Day 1
Today we flew to NY. Our limo driver picked us up at 4:15 and quickly had our luggage (most was already in NY from when we drove this summer) and my scooter loaded into the SUV. We arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare. We stopped for coffee and then headed to security. Not crowded but today was my lucky day and it will be from now on because of the replaced knee. had to be patted down and today they started a new and improved patting where they use their whole flat hand up and down your legs your back your stomach and other unmentionable places! Okay 20 minutes later they realize I am not a terrorist and let me meet up with Bill who sailed through. Ah it seems like only yesterday he was on the no-fly zone and we had to write to Homeland Security now it is me...... Oh my I guess this means that when I get my custom hip I will have to allow 1 hour for security.
Anyway we had a great flight even landed early. Now you all know me and know that if ever something is going to go wrong it goes when I am there. We landed and we waited and waited for our limo driver. We waited 1 hr and 20 minutes. He called and said he was 2 miles away from the airport sitting in stopped traffic. It seems JFK was on heightened security. seems there were mysterious packages. An UAE jet was escorted by fighter planes to a remote runway and emptied. Well when the limo arrived he couldn't fit our two suitcases and my scooter even though I told the girl on the phone about the scooter. So he had to put the main part of the scooter in the front seat I had 2 parts by my feet. and we headed to Middletown. Traffic, traffic and more traffic we took streets through parts of NY I never even knew existed. WE drove through Harlem, Washington Heights and finally got on the GW Bridge. Well it took us 3 hours but we finally made it to our house. The kids met us there so that was a great treat and we did takeout! So today has been an exhausting day and I am headed to bed. More to come...................
